About FIRST
FIRST is the world’s leading youth robotics community, delivering hands-on STEM learning that inspires innovation, builds confidence, and prepares kids for life. Across the globe, students thrive in our programs — powered by mentorship, teamwork, creativity, and engineering challenges. - firstinspires.org
I have competed with FIRST Robotics from freshman to senior year, building my technical skillset in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering. Moreover, I have developed many soft skills, including public speaking, budgeting, marketing, fundraising, and more from my time in FIRST, which have given me the foundation to build not only robots, but robotics programs.
Competition Seasons
FIRST Robotics Competition: 2026
The 2026 Season of FRC, REBUILT, consisted of three robots on one alliance scoring FUEL into a HUB during their respective shifts. During this season, my team had (in my opinion) the most impressive year in our history, ending as the Winner of both district events we competed in, Impact Award Winner of our second district event, Winner of the Texas State Championship, Semi-Finalist of World Championship Newton Division playoffs, and Division Engineering Inspiration Award winner! As Technical Advisor, I oversaw our software development on the robot. I guided other software members through creating and refining our subsystems while developing more complex functions including pose estimation, auto-align, and autonomous routines. By the end of the season, we (statistically) reached 19th in the world rankings and 4th most improved team since last year!

FIRST Tech Challenge: 2025-2026
The 2025-2026 Season of FTC, DECODE, consisted of two robots on one alliance scoring up to three ARTIFACTS into a GOAL for the duration of the match. During this season, our team 33791 Wolverine Robotics had a rocky start, forming our team a mere 11 days before competition. However, between administrative support and strong team determination, we competed at an exceedingly high level, winning the Dallas Semi-Regional and placing third at the UIL State Championship! As the main programmer on the team, I oversaw our software development on the robot. I guided other software members through creating and refining our subsystems while developing more complex functions including auto-align, distance-based scoring, and autonomous routines. By the end of the season, we placed in the top 10% of all terms worldwide performance-wise and hope to carry that momentum into our second season!

FIRST Robotics Competition: 2025
The 2025 Season of FRC, REEFSCAPE, consisted of three robots on one alliance placing CORAL onto various levels of a REEF before climbing on the CAGE at the end of the game. During this season, my team employed a complex pivoting, extending arm subsystem architecture that won us the Creativity Award at the Amarillo District Event. This season significantly contributed to my development as a programmer, as my elevated role as Software Lead encouraged me to understand motion profiling, autonomous routines, and pose estimation at a much deeper level. Though we ultimately did not make it to the world championship, the skills our team learned almost certainly contributed to our success in REBUILT.

FIRST Tech Challenge: 2024-2025
The 2024-2025 Season of FTC, INTO THE DEEP, consisted of two robots on one alliance performing two major tasks: scoring SAMPLES into the BASKET (seen top left in the GIF) and hooking SPECIMENS onto the SUBMERSIBLE. During this season, I competed with FTC Team 21330, Itkan of Tomorrow. As the sole programmer on the team and relatively new to programming, I quickly built up an understanding of the FTC software stack and the differences between the programs on a macro scale. In addition, I developed a custom pathing algorithm using my knowledge to enable lateral in addition to axial movement, making our autonomous routines more sophisticated than they were previously.

FIRST Robotics Competition: 2024
The 2024 Season of FRC, CRESCENDO, consisted of three robots on one alliance picking up NOTES off of the ground and shooting them into a SPEAKER. During this offseason, I began developing my knowledge of more complex FRC software functionalities, including command-based architecture, autonomous routines, swerve drive, and more. Though I was unable to compete during the regular season, I continued to improve my skills and overall understanding of the FRC program so that once REEFSCAPE began, I was equipped to handle the rigor of a competition season.
